Recently we attended the wedding of our friend's son in Michigan. Since the week of our wedding anniversary was so busy, we decided to go a day early and stay at the Chelsea House Victorian Inn in Chelsea Michigan.
We had a beautiful room! There was much to love and enjoy about this wonderful Bed & Breakfast including lovely inn keepers.
Tucked into a quiet neighborhood but just steps away from the downtown shopping and restaurants, you can sit and relax on their lovely front porch.
I loved this working reproduction record player! I totally thought it was vintage. The owner said it's even equipped with blue tooth!
Lovely staircase leading up to the guest rooms and beautiful, antique, yet comfortable furniture and decor throughout
There were several very nice gift shops and a wonderful toy store that we visited. In the toy store I couldn't stop carrying this chicken around. I had planned to go back and get it for our grandson. I was so in love with it haha! Hubby surprised me by getting it for me!
My eagle eyes spotted the bone china teacups in the tea/coffee bar!
ReplyDeleteI've always been partial to Victorian decor and even tried to look for a Victorian house, but my wallet said NO!
Sounds (and looks) idyllic! I simply can't imagine being able to stay in such a place. And that chicken is delightful!
ReplyDeleteps - meant to wish you a happy anniversary!!
ReplyDeleteWhat lovely pictures of a beautiful place. The car photo is great. Feeling the desire for a road trip now. ☺
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful place to stay and enjoy the wedding! The car photo is wonderful! How sweet that your hubby bought you the chicken.
ReplyDeleteOh my! You were only about 45 minutes from me! I adore Chelsea -- it's the cutest town. Doesn't sound like there was time to tour the Jiffy plant -- it's a fun tour (and you get free muffin mixes, for what it's worth!). I'm not familiar with the B&B though -- I'll have to remember that. That might be a fun surprise getaway for Rick and me sometime. Apart from going to the lake and back, we're trying hard not to gas up and travel too much. That's close enough and a fun place to be!
ReplyDeleteI am from Chelsea. It is a wonderful town with great schools, lovely shops, a theater owned by Jeff Daniels, and the famous Common Grill restaurant. I'm so happy you had such a nice visit!
ReplyDeleteIt is beautiful - we actually ate at the Common Grill - excellent!
DeleteGlad you had such a nice time in Michigan. I grew up in that area and know Chelsea well. The pics are beautiful. Have a good weekend. xoxo Kris

Thank you for letting me know about the little girl figurines on eBay, Lauren. I think I've seen those before, and if we can't find my mother-in-law's sweet one, then I might consider browsing there. I appreciate your efforts very much. : )
