Marble Magnets & Tin PLUS a GIVEAWAY!

I needed a quick “Hostess” gift yesterday so I went through all of my ‘stuff’ and found these tins and decorative marbles and decided to make a set of stamped magnets with a coordinating box.  

I had several of these candy tins and a few bags of the floral marbles (with flat backs) so I went to work.

 

First I roughed up the box with a Scotch Sanding Pad, wiped clean and then sprayed on 2-3 thin coats of white primer.  While this was drying I started on the magnets.

I chose some coordinating papers and stamped the images using StazOn ink.  I chose StazOn because it is a permanent ink that wouldn’t ‘run’ when I adhered it to the marbles.  I applied a decent amount of Mod Podge to the back of each marble (on the flat surface) and then pressed the stamped pieces on with the stamped image facing up toward the rounded side of the marble. 

I let these dry for about an hour before cutting around the edges and removing the excess paper.

 

Using Gorilla Glue I applied the magnets to the back.  I also cut coordinating paper and glued it to the inside of the tin.  Because the tin was metal, the magnets stuck TO it inside which kept them from sliding around.

 

For the lid I printed out a Bible verse on a coordinating tag and adhered it to the lid with Mod Podge.  The ribbon was a piece of twill tape that I stamped the same images on with StazOn.

Simple, quick and a nice little gift for any occasion!
