Vintage Jello Mold Bell Ornaments

Fasten your seat belts and get ready for a fun ride featuring a whole lot of talented bloggers and a whole lot of fun Christmas ideas!  It's only DAY ONE . . .

Welcome to the third annual 12 Days of Christmas Blog Hop!

Stop by every day from December first through the twelfth for new ideas you can use to make your season brighter!

Meet Your Hosts

They have all been busy as Elves creating, decorating, cooking and crafting tons of new ideas for you to try this holiday season!

These bell ornaments were so fun to make. With just a few things I already had (molds, keys and formica chips) and a the purchase of some large, metal washers, I was able to make these ornaments (and they really do RING!).  All are available for purchase in my Etsy Shop.
The formica chips are something I use A LOT. They are free (although I do ask at my local hardware/Home Depot before taking them since I tend to take quite a few) and you they make wonderful gift tags or any kind of tag because you can paint them, cover with paper, etc. and they are sturdy.
I sprayed one side of these black. The other side I covered with paper. I printed out the words on the paper, cut to slightly larger than the chip and just glued the paper on. Next I used an emery board or sanding block to sand from front to back, removing the excess paper and creating a distressed edge.
The aluminum molds are very soft so it was easy to drill holes in the top for hanging.
The washers were a perfect fit for the top of these. I sprayed them red and attached with E6000.
I also sprayed the keys red.
Thread the key and chip through the opening in the top to form a hanger.
I love using parts of Scripture or music for these types of tags.
These are all available in my Etsy Shop.  There are several different carols depicted on these and I think they'd make a wonderful gift for an ornament exchange, to decorate a package or as a hostess gift!
